ROI Radio Update

Hello Feedburners, as you have noticed, ROI Radio has been on a little bit of a hiatus lately. In fact, it has been two months since the last episode was published. However, I would like to officially announce that ROI Radio is about to return, and will be better than ever. So stay subscribed and I promise there will be lots of good stuff coming soon.

Recently, most of my time and attention around producing new media has been spent experimenting a lot with video on my personal blog, The Trend Junkie.

I have been feeling guilty for not sending anything out over this feed in a while, so while we get ROI Radio ramped back up over the next couple of weeks, feel free to check out some of the videos that I have put up over the past couple of months. Episodes of what I dub as "trend tv" are below, with the most recent at the top:

trend tv: Frank Gruber, AOL, Somewhat Frank

trend tv: Lee Gibbons, CEO, Podango

trend tv: Tim Street, French Maid TV

trend tv: Doug Kaye, Conversations Network

trend tv: Paul Vogelzang, Porter Novelli, Mommycast

trend tv: John C Havens, BlogTalkRadio

trend tv: Ryan Irelan, Mijingo, PFA, Airbag Industries

trend tv: Michael Bailey, Mobasoft, LLC (www.mobatalk.com)

ROI Radio: Rick Klau, Feedburner

This episode of ROI Radio features a discussion with Rick Klau, who at the time of recording was the VP, Publisher Services of Feedburner, and is now part of the content acquisition team at Google. Feedburner as many of you know is an RSS management provider who was just acquired by Google. This podcast was recorded before the acquisition was announced.

In this episode Rick and I talk about the massive growth of RSS adoption, and the role that Feedburner plays in the space. We discuss in detail the metrics around RSS and how Feedburner calculates them. Rick goes into great detail explaining the metrics around subscribers, clicks, downloads, audience reach and site stats. All great information that any publisher would want to know.

Rick is then asked the “whats next?” question as it relates to RSS. Check out this episode for an insightful analysis of Feedburner, RSS and the future of where syndicated content is going.

ROI Radio: Harry Gold, Overdrive Interactive

This episode of ROI Radio features an interview with Harry Gold, the Managing Director of Overdrive Interactive, whose clients include, Harley Davidson, John Hancock, LoJack, Boston Globe among many others.

In this episode I cut to the chase with Harry and ask him his opinion on “whats next?” and what he considers to be “bleeding edge” in online media and marketing.

Harry believes that the future of online media is in how we will go about optimizing our online media campaigns, and more importantly how we share the data across the different channels. The various “silos of optimization” that are currently being done within each individual online media are going to vanish, and the new trend will be sharing the data between the effectiveness of each media, and translating what key metrics online can also drive offline. Interesting stuff for sure. Check it out.
